Penny, daughter of Ch. Baluchistan Melody and Oldoak Ned Kelly (Imp. UK) was our Maistar foundation bitch. A beautiful girl who was whelped in 1989 and died in 2002 when she was 13 years old. She wasn't overly fond of the showring but did everything I asked of her. Having her share of wins Penny usually did well at specialist shows. In 1993 she had her only litter and produced 6 lovely pups. One of them, Ariki, we kept.
Ariki, was our first home bred dog. Son of Ch. Perfu Lady Penelope and Ch. Macopa Son of a Gun (Imp. UK), whelped on 4 July, 1993, he was a lovely puppy and grew into a handsome adult. He was an amenable boy and was always happy to please. He enjoyed the showring and won many in-group and in-show awards. Ariki sired two litters. Sadly our beautiful boy went to sleep on 12 April, 2007.
Sian, is a daughter of Ch. Hartwyn Royal Pageant CDX and Ch. Olensha Over Themoon and was bred by Mrs Pauline Hartwell. A lovely girl who did well in the showring. She won several Club point score classes as well as having her share of in-group wins in the showring. Sian is a lovely feminine girl and has produced two litters.
Brogan, son of Ch. Maistar Shooting Star and Ch. Hartwyn Over The Top. We are proud to announce that Brogan has now gained his CD title. A joy to train and to trial. In only four trials Brogan gained his three passes which gave him his title and we are now looking forward to continuing his good work.

Bridie
Bridie, daughter of Sian and Ariki. Bridie was shown consistently and has won many awards - Baby Puppy in Group, Five Minor Puppy in Group, two Minor Puppy in Show, Best Puppy in Group, Runner Up to Best Exhibit in Group 5, Best Junior in Show and Best Exhibit in Group. Bridie and I have had a break from the showring for awhile but hope to gett back into it again this year.
Almost twenty years ago we bought our first Old English Sheepdog puppy - Penny. We bought her as a pet but were talked into showing her at the OES Club champ. show which was scheduled to be held within the next couple of months. We thought, ‘why not, this will be fun’. We didn’t realize at the time that our lives were about to take a turn and that we were going to be ‘taken over’ by this beautiful breed. Penny won Best Baby Puppy in Show under UK breed specialist Barry Croft, and with that the deed was done, I was hooked.
I have shown consistently since then and have also bred under my own prefix – Maistar.
I have been involved with obedience for several years now. Penny and Ariki were obedience trained but were not trialled. I decided to train Brogan with the idea of trialling him for his CD Title which he now has. We have both enjoyed our Sunday mornings at Warringal and Brogan is usually sitting in the car before I am ready to go. I will continue with his training and hopefully will take him through to his next Title. I love being closely involved with my dogs and they have given me much joy over the years.
I have been a member of our Club for almost twenty years and an active committee member of the Old English Sheepdog Club of Victoria - Jess.
